LeonaLeona Louise Lewis (born on April 3, 1985) is a British artist, singer also known as actress, and activist. Born and raised in the London Borough of Islington, she studied at her school at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology located in Croydon. Lewis was recognized as a national talent when she won the third series of The X Factor in 2006 she was awarded an PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. An original Kelly Clarkson song"A Moment Like This" was her prize. It surpassed 50,000 digital downloads within less than 30 minutes, and peaked at number one for 4 weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February. Her success continued after she dropped her debut album, Spirit (2007). The album received platinum certification in the UK and became the fourth most-sold album of 2000. Spirit was, according to Official Charts Company is the greatest-selling debut album by a female singer. The first single, "Bleeding Love", spent seven weeks at number top in UK and was also the top-selling single in 2007. It also was the biggest-selling track in the US the same year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award subsequent year. Echo was her sophomore studio album. Lewis also composed the song "I Have You in My Eyes" for Avatar. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" in collaboration alongside Swedish DJ Avicii as well as her first extended performance, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) was Lewis the release of her 3rd studio album. It's an intriguing new style. Lewis draws inspiration from dubstep , as well as electronic music.
